Do I Need To "Dress Up" To Attend Services?

Absolutely not! Come as you are and how you will be comfortable. Jesus said for all who are weary and heavy laden to come to Him and He will provide them rest (Matt 11:28). He didn't say you have to get dressed in a suit and tie first then come to Him for rest. God wants us to seek him in our mess and He will handle the rest.

What Can I Expect When I Get There?

We understand a new place is intimidating and can cause anxiety. We hope to alleviate some of that by giving you a sense of what to expect. You can expect to be met with open arms and a hug -  literally. Our duty as the church is to demonstrate God's love. We do this as soon as you enter with a hug and a genuine gladness to see you.

There are donuts and coffee available upon entering in our welcome center as well. Donations are asked for but don't feel obligated whatsoever. Help yourself and enjoy!

If you need help finding a seat for service please ask one of the members of our welcome team and they will be happy to help you. There is no assigned seating so please sit anywhere you feel comfortable.

Will I Have To Stand Up and Introduce Myself?

Only if you really want to. We want you be comfortable during your visit to Higher Praise. Most people don't feel comfortable being the center of attention in a sanctuary full of people on their first visit and we completely understand that.

Pastor Ware may ask you to raise your hand if your visiting prior to his sermon but he only wants to personally say welcome and introduce himself. If you're not comfortable with this either, there is no requirement for participation.

What Is Praise and Worship Like?

You will probably know a lot of the songs we sing and if you don't that's okay, the words will be displayed on screen so you can follow along. Worship is your time to spend with God. There is no pressure to sing or lift hands or anything like that. There will be people that do and people that don't and both are okay.

Is Child Care Available?

Families are what the church is all about. We strive to provide a comfortable place for not only you but also your little ones. We have a staffed nursery for babies and toddlers as well as Sunday School for the older kids.

Each class is separated by age group and lessons are adapted accordingly. Please ask a member of our welcome team if you need to know what location to send your child for their age group. We will also be happy to show you around so that you can see where your children will be during service.
